Benjamin Steiger Levine was born in Montreal, Canada. He studied Communications at Concordia University were he began directing films. After graduating with top honors he received grants from the Canada Council for the Arts, the NFB (National Film Board of Canada), Bravo Fact, and SODEC (Société de développement des entreprises culturelles du Québec) to produce the short films Sigh and Zackary Samuel: Illusionist which have screened at countless international festivals.
He turned toward more commercial pursuits with his first Music Video for fellow Montrealer and artist So-Called entitled You Are Never Alone. The video received over two million hits on youtube and prompted sudden industry and blogosphere wide accolades. In 2009 Ben began directing commercials. He has just completed a new global Sprite campaign, through BBH New York, for the Coca-Cola Company with separate spots airing in the North American, European, Chinese and Indian markets.
Ben's work has been featured in Boards Magazine, Shots Magazine, Stash Magazine, Creativity Magazine, Motionographer, on countless blogs and at festivals around the world. In 2008 he was named a director to watch by Boards Magazine. In 2009 he was named a best New Director at the CANNES LIONS International Advertising Festival as part of the Saatchi and Saatchi New Directors? Showcase as well as being named a Young Gun by the ADC (Art Directors Club NY). In 2010 his video for the band Beast was nominated for a Grammy in the best music video category.
