Alex Roman - defines himself as a light-sculptor director
"In recent years I have been working as an art director in various companies related to visual effects and architecture. I have always had an interest in various disciplines such as photography, commercial advertising and feature films. All of the related knowledge I have acquired in these particular fields has been on my own.
I took a year off to have some time to myself exercising my knowledge, improving and learning when possible and trying to make a short film that has finally resulted in "The Third & The Seventh"
The release of this piece has given me several opportunities to redirect my career to directing television commercials and films. In this particular sense I have always been interested in both fields. I do not see one as necessarily a jump to the other. I see each field as having different aspects and formats.
Among my aesthetic interests are, of course architecture but my real passion is photographic techniques, composition, visual narrative and especially the light. I really love good scripts, either comedy, drama or abstraction, but what I really enjoy is being able to tell stories visually. "
